Villa College Students Tackle Water and Marine Challenges in SIDS Through Innovative Research

Three Masters of Public Health (MPH) students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Villa College, have successfully completed their coursework and final dissertations under the 3SWater Project Scholarship.
This scholarship is part of the 3S Water Project, a collaborative consortium initiative led by the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, with Villa College serving as the higher education partner. The project is managed by the Institute for Research and Innovation (IRI) and aims to advance sustainable water management solutions tailored to Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

The students demonstrated the impact of their research by presenting their findings at the Seminar on Integrated Management of Small Island Water and Marine Resources, held on 14 December 2024. Their work not only highlights academic excellence but also contributes to addressing critical water and marine resource challenges faced by SIDS, aligning with global efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6. Their work offers sustainable solutions for integrated water resource management, enhancing public health, fostering environmental resilience, and improving the quality of life for small island communities.
The seminar served as a vital platform for the students to present their findings to researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders. It further highlighted Villa College’s commitment to advancing impactful research that aligns with global sustainability goals.
