Voting Commences for By-Elections Across Eight Islands, Including Male’ City

The Election Commission of Maldives (ECM) has officially commenced the voting process for the by-elections aimed at electing the president of two councils and a member of the island women’s development committee, today.
Voting for the by-elections started at 8 am today and polls are open until 4 pm, allowing eligible voters ample time to cast their ballots and participate in the democratic process.
The by-elections are scheduled to take place across eight islands, including Male’ city. A total of 11 designated ballot boxes have been established to facilitate the voting process, with three of these boxes situated at the new Dharumavantha School. Furthermore, three additional by-elections are slated to be conducted within these polling stations.
Moreover, polling stations have been set up in F. Bilehdhoo, F. Magoodhoo, F. Dharanboodhoo, and F. Nilandhoo to cater to the voting requirements of residents in these areas. The by-elections will be conducted at these locations as well.
