Addressing the audience, the Vice President urged journalists to prioritise the accuracy of information, maintain balanced perspectives, and adhere to principles of truthfulness and accountability, especially as new technologies such as artificial intelligence reshape the media landscape. He also emphasised the importance of upholding standards in the Dhivehi language and promoting its use to foster national unity.

The Vice President further stressed the need to develop journalism talent from an early age, encouraging initiatives in schools, colleges, and universities to nurture future journalists. His remarks concluded with a call to use the media as a platform to uplift the voices of citizens across the country.
