The Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has announced revised waste collection schedules for Ramadan, which will take effect from tomorrow and remain in place until the end of the first six days of Shawwal.

In a statement shared on Facebook, WAMCO said waste collection in Malé will take place from 8:30 pm to 2:00 am. In Hulhumalé, collection will run from 9:00 pm to 2:30 am.

For Vilimalé, WAMCO said waste collection will be carried out from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am, starting from the first day of Ramadan and continuing until the end of the first six days of Shawwal.

WAMCO said the revised schedule is intended to accommodate changes in daily routines during Ramadan.

Ramadan is expected to begin on 18 February, although the Ministry of Islamic Affairs has yet to officially announce the start date.
