Wealth, Well-being, and Faith Important for One’s Happiness, Says First Lady Sajidha

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed highlighted the importance of wealth, well-being, and mental health, and the importance of faith for happiness at the launch of the “Happiness Index” by the Ministry of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works.
At the ceremony to launch the Happiness Index in Sultan Park yesterday, Sajidha noted that happiness is a compelling subject and that Maldivians, as Muslims, the Holy Quran guidees believers to attain true peace and happiness through the remembrance of Allah through the acceptance of life’s blessings and challenges.
Sajidha unveiled the logo for the Happiness Index at the ceremony.

Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar said the Happiness Index will be compiled and implemented by consulting the island councils across the country. He said they have been meeting with the councils to increase awareness about the initiative.
He noted the importance of awarding the islands that make breakthroughs in their happiness index.
Maldives Islamic University was appointed as the research partner for this initiative. The ministry said it held three meetings with the university last year to discuss the Happiness Index initiative.
The Happiness Index is an initiative launched by President Muizzu. It was undertaken by the Ministry of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works, led by Minister Adam Shareef.
