Week-Long Allotment Draw Underway for Binveriya Scheme Beneficiaries

Ministry of National Planning, Housing & Infrastructure has announced that allotment process for designated land areas is set to span over a week, providing beneficiaries of the Binveriya Scheme with their allocated plots.

The initial draw is dedicated to these 18,955 beneficiaries has commenced at 12:00 pm today and is set to unfold over the first two days at Galolhu Stadium, after which it will continue at Henveyru Stadium.

State Minister of the Planning Ministry, Akram Kamaluddeen has stated that the draw is projected to conclude within a period of 7 to 10 days. Furthermore, Akram has confirmed that the formal handover of land titles is currently in progress.

The landowner introduced the scheme in June of the previous year, which garnered a remarkable response, with over 23,000 individuals submitting applications. From this pool, 19,639 applicants have met the eligibility criteria for obtaining land. Among these eligible candidates, a total of 18,955 individuals are scheduled to receive land in this phase.

The draw process will unfold based on the chronological sequence of application submissions. Upon the announcement of the definitive list, the land size is revealed. The lottery paper issued to each individual will specify the location of their allocated land along with the plot number.

The government’s allocation of land extends to Hulhumale’, Gulhifalhu, and Giravaru falhu. These three locations will feature in the lottery ticket draw, with the plot number correlating to an island on the paperwork determining the land allocation.
