White Alert Issued Across Northern Maldives: Strong Winds and Rough Seas Forecast

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a white alert for the Northern Atolls.

These alerts are in effect from 09:15 hours to 15:15 hours today.

The forecasts warn of strong winds of 19 – 24mph and gusts of 45mph, with rough seas expected.

Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised by the MMS to remain vigilant and implement appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

White alert: Alert Level 1

Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2

Orange warning: Alert Level 3

Red warning: Alert Level 4
