White Alert Issued Central and Southern Regions: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a white alert from Kaafu Atoll to Addu City.

These alerts are in effect from 09:15 hours to 15:00 hours today.

The forecasts warn of heavy rain and thunderstorms with gusts of 45mph.

Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised by the MMS to remain vigilant and implement appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

White alert: Alert Level 1

Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2

Orange warning: Alert Level 3

Red warning: Alert Level 4
