White Alert Issued Nationwide: Strong Winds and Rough Seas Expected

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued white alert across the country.

These alerts are in effect from 13:15 hours to 18:15 hours today.

The forecasts warns of strong winds of 19 – 24mph with gusts of 40 mph and rough seads expected over the country.

Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised by the MMS to remain vigilant and implement appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

  • White alert: Alert Level 1
  • Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
  • Orange warning: Alert Level 3
  • Red warning: Alert Level 4
