White Alert Issued Southern Atolls, Heavy Rainfall Expected Over Next Three Days

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a white alert today for regions from Laamu Atoll to Seenu Atoll, warning of heavy rainfall expected over the next three days.
The MMS issued the alert from 1345 hours to 1945 hours. The forecast warns of heavy rains and thunderstorms, with gusts of wind up to 40 mph.
The alert follows several days of heavy rainfall across the Maldives, during which MMS has been regularly issuing weather warnings.

Additionally, according to the MMS website, heavy rainfall is forecast across the Maldives over the next three days, with thunderstorms expected in Hulhulé, Laamu Atoll Kadhdhoo, and Seenu Gan, while Gaafu Dhaalu Kadehdhoo is likely to experience light showers.
MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:
White alert: Alert Level 1
Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
Orange warning: Alert Level 3
Red warning: Alert Level 4
