Police have revealed that a 50-year-old woman has been arrested for sexually abusing her child while under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities received reports of the woman physically and sexually abusing her child in the Malé area, with the case referred to police by the Ministry of Social and Family Development.

The woman was arrested yesterday under a court order and presented in court today for a remand hearing. She has been placed in custody for a period of 30 days.
Police have not disclosed the identity of the woman, emphasising that the law prohibits revealing any information that could identify the victim in such cases.
