Worker at WAMCO Site Receives Critical Care Following Diesel Ingestion

An employee at GA. Dhiyadhoo’s WAMCO site is receiving treatment on ventilator support after ingesting diesel. 

The substance entered the employee’s lungs, prompting initial treatment at GA. Villingili Hospital before they were transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for further care. The employee is currently stable while on ventilator support.

Separately, an employee of STELCO who was critically injured in a workplace fire passed away last Thursday.
