The Chairperson of the People’s National Congress (PNC), Abdul Raheem Abdulla (Adhurey), has stated that the PPM-PNC coalition remained unaffected by Yameen’s departure and the formation of the People’s National Front (PNF), in a joint senate meeting last night.
He further affirmed that the coalition’s membership is steadily increasing. Despite the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) currently holding a majority in the Parliament, Adhurey expressed full confidence that the PPM-PNC would secure a supermajority in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
When asked about the coalition’s strategy for achieving a supermajority, Adhurey outlined a four-point approach.
He emphasised the need for tireless work, the continuous delivery of pledges to the people, a visible commitment to fulfilling promises, and close collaboration between President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration and the public.
