Young Man Arrested with Suspected Drugs in Hulhumalé
A 22-year-old man was arrested in Hulhumalé today after his suspicious behaviour prompted police officers to search him.
The arrest took place at around 12:41am on 17 June 2025, at the ground floor parking area of the Vinares 7 apartment complex in Hulhumalé Phase II.

According to the Maldives Police Service, Mohamed Alim, from Funamaage in ADh. Maamigili, entered the parking zone on a motorcycle and appeared visibly panicked upon seeing the police. He quickly parked the vehicle and attempted to leave, raising suspicion.
Officers stopped and searched him, discovering a rubber packet weighing approximately 259 grams in a bag he was carrying. The substance inside is believed to be drugs.
Alim was taken into custody at the scene. The case is currently under investigation by the Hulhumalé Phase II Police Station.
