Youth Hackathon 2025 has commenced, bringing together young people with an interest in coding and technology for a three-day innovation-focused event.

A total of 85 youths are taking part in the hackathon, during which teams will develop ideas and present pitches and proposals across four thematic areas within a 48-hour timeframe.
At the launch of the event, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts Ibrahim Waheed noted that participation had exceeded expectations, reflecting strong interest among young people in technology and innovation. He outlined that the hackathon is intended to encourage youth engagement in the information technology sector, create greater opportunities for young people, and foster innovative, technology-based solutions to real societal challenges.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, with USD 6,485 allocated for first place, USD 4,864 for second place and USD 3,243 for third place, along with additional prizes sponsored by supporting partners.
