
How to Make the Perfect Hummus from Scratch
Hummus is a classic Middle Eastern dip known for its rich, creamy texture and vibrant flavours. With a simple blend of chickpeas, tahina, garlic, and spices, it’s both nutritious and delicious. Whether served as an appetiser, a snack, or as part of a mezze platter, this homemade hummus recipe is easy to make and guaranteed to impress.

What You Need
- Chickpea 200 GM
- Cumin Powder 8 GM
- Paprika Powder 6 GM
- Garlic 20 GM
- Salt 5 GM
- Tahina 15 GM
- Lemon Juice 6 GM
- Olive Oil 10 ML
Preparation
- Soak the Chickpeas: Begin by soaking the chickpeas overnight in water.
- Cook the Chickpeas: The next day, boil the soaked chickpeas in fresh water until they become soft and tender.
- Blend the Dry Ingredients: Pour the olive oil into a blender, followed by the cumin powder, paprika powder, salt, and garlic.
- Add the Chickpeas: Once the chickpeas are boiled and softened, drain them and add them to the blender.
- Blend the Mixture: Add some ice to the blender to help achieve a creamy texture, then blend everything together until you get a smooth and fluffy paste.
- Finish with Lemon Juice and Tahina: Add the lemon juice and tahina to the blended mixture and pulse once more until everything is fully incorporated.
- Serve: Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with extra olive oil if desired. Enjoy with pita bread, veggies, or as a spread!
