How to Make the Perfect Hummus from Scratch

What You Need

  • Chickpea 200 GM
  • Cumin Powder 8 GM
  • Paprika Powder 6 GM
  • Garlic 20 GM
  • Salt 5 GM
  • Tahina 15 GM
  • Lemon Juice 6 GM
  • Olive Oil 10 ML

Preparation

  • Soak the Chickpeas: Begin by soaking the chickpeas overnight in water.
  • Cook the Chickpeas: The next day, boil the soaked chickpeas in fresh water until they become soft and tender.
  • Blend the Dry Ingredients: Pour the olive oil into a blender, followed by the cumin powder, paprika powder, salt, and garlic.
  • Add the Chickpeas: Once the chickpeas are boiled and softened, drain them and add them to the blender.
  • Blend the Mixture: Add some ice to the blender to help achieve a creamy texture, then blend everything together until you get a smooth and fluffy paste.
  • Finish with Lemon Juice and Tahina: Add the lemon juice and tahina to the blended mixture and pulse once more until everything is fully incorporated.
  • Serve: Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with extra olive oil if desired. Enjoy with pita bread, veggies, or as a spread!
