MP for Baarah constituency, Ibrahim Shujau, said the Fenaka corruption case was not something that could be carried out by a single person and alleged this was carried out with the knowledge of the then-ruling party, the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). This statement was made following the special audit report by the AGO, which showed that most contracts awarded by Fenaka Corporation between 2021 and 2023 were issued without competitive bidding.
