The Society for Health Education (SHE) is hosting its visibility event, Anbalan Maahefun 2026, at the Artificial Beach, with activities continuing today following yesterday’s opening day.

Anbalan Maahefun is a long-standing cultural tradition, once observed as a community gathering to welcome the month of Ramadan.

The two-day event will run from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm each day and is being organised in collaboration with the Malé City Council. SHE said the programme is designed to combine public health awareness with recreational activities in a family-friendly setting.

The event includes commercial stalls, food stalls and a jumble sale, along with information booths highlighting services provided by SHE.

Stage activities for children are scheduled throughout the evenings.

Alongside recreational offerings, SHE will provide on-site health services, including blood sugar tests, blood pressure monitoring and body mass index (BMI) assessments through height and weight checks.

Laboratory-related services, such as haemoglobin testing and demonstrations of laboratory procedures, will also be available.

The programme will also place emphasis on family wellbeing, with information on positive parenting and a dedicated “Kids’ Corner” offering activities for younger participants. SHE said Anbalan Maahefun 2026 aims to promote preventive healthcare and increase public engagement with its services, while offering families an opportunity to spend time together in an accessible public space.
