Gov’t Announces Empowerment Hub to Create Inclusive Income Pathways for PWD
The Ministry of Social and Family Development has announced plans to establish a dedicated facility, the Empowerment Hub, designed to create income-generating opportunities for people with disabilities.
According to the ministry, the Empowerment Hub will provide a space for individuals with disabilities to develop new skills, sell their products, and access employment opportunities. Through training and support services, the centre will empower participants to build the skills needed to start their own businesses and secure sustainable income.
The hub will also serve as a platform for people with disabilities to showcase their talents by selling their products, fostering both skill development and financial independence. The facility is being designed to ensure full accessibility, aiming to create an inclusive and barrier-free environment.
In addition, the Empowerment Hub will facilitate connections between businesses and potential employees from the disabled community, promoting both social responsibility and workplace diversity. The ministry is currently in the process of finalising the operational model for the hub and securing an appropriate location.
