Chinese Embassy Supports Maldivian Students with Financial Assistance
The Chinese Embassy in the Maldives has provided financial support to 32 students pursuing higher education in the country through the ‘Chinese Ambassador Bursary’ programme.
During a ceremony held yesterday, the funds were distributed to students enrolled at the Maldives National University and the Islamic University of Maldives. Each student received MVR 10,000 to assist with their educational expenses.

Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Wang Lixin, stated that the initiative aims to encourage students to concentrate on their studies and enhance their skills. She underscored the vital role that young people play in society, asserting that the future of any nation relies on its youth.
Ambassador Wang also highlighted the strong relationship between China and the Maldives, inviting Maldivian students to consider scholarship opportunities in China.
This year’s support follows the embassy’s previous assistance to 10 students from the Maldives National University last year.
