The state presented evidence that on April 11, 2022, Shakeeb was about to mount his motorcycle, which was parked outside the Kuda Henveiru Field in Male’. Upon noticing police officers nearby, he became nervous and attempted to walk away. His actions raised suspicion among the police, who subsequently stopped him and searched his motorcycle. During the search, they found the nine-inch knife hidden in the front cover.

The offence carries a potential prison sentence of six to 12 months. However, Shakeeb entered into a plea agreement with the state, resulting in a reduced sentence of one month and 20 days in prison.
