The family of the woman who fell from the ninth floor of a building to the roof of a warehouse in Male’ in late April confirms she has woken up, but that she is in a state of “deep shock”.
In a post on X yesterday, her brother-in-law updated on the 21-year-old woman currently receiving medical care in Malaysia. He said the key point in her recovery is that her feeding tube has been removed, and she can now take in blended food.
Her next surgery is scheduled for Thursday, where fragments from her hip and elbow will be removed. Additionally, he said her hip will be aligned as well.
Even though her recovery is “slow but steady,” he noted that she had a lung infection the past two days as well.
Last Tuesday, he said she had undergone her most critical surgery, which was for a fragmented fracture in the C7 bone, the largest and most inferior vertebra in the neck region.
