‘2OfUs’ Clinches Second Runner-Up at India’s Battle of the Bands International

Maldivian band ‘2OfUs’ has secured the second runner-up award at India’s Battle of the Bands International, one of the region’s most prominent music competitions.
Representing the Maldives, the five-member band took the stage in Mumbai with a clear intent to highlight the country’s unique culture and indigenous traditions. In each round leading up to the grand finale, ‘2OfUs’ integrated elements of Maldivian heritage into their music, a creative direction that resonated strongly with the audience and judges alike.

At the final, the band performed Eheree Dhivehi Nishaan, a piece that blended a traditional Dhivehi song with an original Hindi composition. Judges praised the emotionally charged delivery, noting it as one of the standout performances of the event. “’2OfUs’, which usually delivers stage-packed performances, actually made the judges cry,” said one of the adjudicators following the performance.
Following their win, the band released a statement describing their achievement as “a victory for the country.” They expressed gratitude to their fans, highlighting the support received from Maldivians as a key motivation behind their success. “The real beneficiaries of the success are the band’s fans who have been with ‘2OfUs’ till date,” the statement read. “Today, with the success of the band, local musicians have been assured of a place on the international stage.”
The band also extended thanks to the organisers of the competition, their mentor Neeraj, the judging panel, and their families, attributing their win to “a lot of good wishes and prayers.”
In addition to the title, ‘2OfUs’ received a cash prize of 300,000 Indian rupees (MVR 54,838.66). The top position was claimed by Mauritius band ‘Ebanez’, with Sri Lankan band ‘Knights’ taking second place.

‘2OfUs’ consists of Ahmed Adhuham, Abdulla Shamrooh, Ahmed Jasheem, Ahmed Shahyd (also known as Shahyd Legacy), and Mohamed Nasooh Bin Nasruddin.
