President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed have departed for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

According to a statement from the President’s Office, the President and First Lady are accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Minister of Finance and Planning, Moosa Zameer; the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed; and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel along with his spouse.

Also part of the delegation are the Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu and his spouse; the Chief Imam of the Islamic Centre, Sheikh Mohamed Latheef and his spouse; and the Chief of Protocol, Mohamed Shahudy.

The Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is hosting the delegation during their stay in the country.
