STELCO Announces Planned Power Interruptions Across Malé and Hulhumalé Today

The State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has announced a series of planned power interruptions across Malé and Hulhumalé today, as part of critical upgrades to the region’s power generation and distribution infrastructure.

The temporary outages, announced in advance by STELCO, are intended to facilitate essential maintenance and modernisation works aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the local power grid. According to the company, these upgrades are necessary to strengthen overall infrastructure and meet the growing energy demands of the Greater Malé region.
Residents are advised to prepare for the scheduled outages by arranging for backup lighting and safeguarding sensitive electronic or medical equipment. STELCO’s customer service centre is available for assistance via the 1545 hotline.
