President Muizzu Reaffirms Maldives’ Commitment to Women in Leadership

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to promoting women in leadership, particularly in the field of diplomacy. In a statement marking the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, the President emphasised the nation’s belief in a future shaped by the voices, leadership, and resilience of women and girls.
Posting on his official X account, President Muizzu said it was a matter of immense pride for the Maldives to commemorate this day — especially as one of the United Nations Member States that spearheaded its adoption.
He called for greater global recognition of the vital role women play in shaping foreign policy and reiterated the Maldives’ continued support for inclusive and equitable leadership in international diplomacy.
