The Maldivian Blood Services (MBS) has launched a dedicated hotline to improve access to services for thalassaemia patients.
The hotline, available on 7333645, is intended to provide information and assistance during service hours.
In addition to the hotline, MBS will continue to offer support through Viber and WhatsApp messaging platforms. The service aims to address the challenges frequently faced by families of thalassaemia patients, including difficulties in obtaining essential treatments such as bone marrow transplants.
The government has taken a series of measures to ensure that necessary treatment options for thalassaemia patients remain accessible within the country.
