Parliament Sends Eight JSC Applicants to Judiciary Committee for Review

Parliament has forwarded the names of eight public applicants for membership in the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to the Judiciary Committee for review and evaluation.

These individuals have applied to represent the public on the JSC.

Following the announcement, Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla confirmed that the names had been formally submitted to the committee for consideration.

The eight applicants are:

  • Ibrahim Zahidh, from Liliymage, Gaafu Dhaalu Vaadhoo
  • Ahmed Ali, from Flat number 01-G-108, Hulhumalé
  • Ali Amir, from MA. Penzeevilla, Malé
  • Idhrees Fauzy, from Fahivaage, Laamu Kalaidhoo
  • Ahmed Shafiu, from Udhares, Haa Alif Ihavandhoo
  • Dr Hussain Faiz, Dhaftharu number 1325
  • Hassan Waheed, from Rankokaage, Haa Dhaalu Kurinbi
  • Ali Mohamedmanik, Daftharu number RS 1851

The current public representative on the JSC, Aiminath Ummukulsoom, is serving a term that concludes in August this year. The application process was opened in anticipation of her term’s end.
