STELCO Advances Smart Meter Rollout in Hulhumalé and Prepares for App Launch

As part of its ongoing efforts to modernise services and strengthen customer trust, the State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has successfully installed smart meters in the second phase of Hulhumalé. The company is now in the final stages of preparing to launch an innovative mobile application that will enable customers to monitor and manage their electricity usage more effectively.
With the rollout expected to be completed by the end of September, STELCO aims to convert all customer meters to smart meters. The upcoming mobile application will allow users to view real-time data from their smart meters and track their electricity consumption by the hour, day, and week.

One of the most significant advantages of this system is the ability for customers to closely monitor their electricity usage. This, in turn, encourages energy conservation and helps reduce electricity bills. The application will also enable customers to pay multiple bills at once, streamlining the payment process. It will offer a direct communication channel with customer service representatives through the STELCO Care platform.
