Children eligible for Grade One admission must be at least six years old and under seven by 1 January of the relevant academic year. However, due to changes in the academic calendar—now commencing in August—the ministry has confirmed that, as in the previous two years, children who turn seven by the end of December will remain eligible for Grade One admission.
This policy is in line with the guidelines issued in a ministry circular from January last year, which outlines the criteria for school admissions and student transfers.
As per the current academic calendar, the first term break will begin on 24 July, with the second term scheduled to start on 10 August. The academic year is set to conclude on 28 December, followed by the end-of-year holidays, which will run from 28 December 2025 to 27 January 2026.
