White Alert Issued Across Most of the Country: Heavy Rain, Wave Surges, Rough Seas Expected

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a white alert from Haa Alif atoll to Thaa Atoll.
This alert is in effect from 0945 hours to 1530 hours today.
The forecasts warn of heavy rain and strong winds, with gusts of up to 45mph expected. The forecast also warns of possible rough seas and wave surges.
Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised by the MMS to remain vigilant and implement appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:
- White alert: Alert Level 1
- Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
- Orange warning: Alert Level 3
- Red warning: Alert Level 4
