MMS Issues White Alert Across Northern and Central Maldives

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a white alert today, covering areas from Haa Alif Atoll to Dhaalu Atoll.
The MMS issued the alert from 0930 hours to 1530 hours. The forecast warns of strong winds ranging from 19 to 24 mph, with gusts reaching up to 40 mph, along with rough sea conditions.

The alert follows several days of heavy rainfall across the Maldives, during which MMS has been regularly issuing weather warnings.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:
- White alert: Alert Level 1
- Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
- Orange warning: Alert Level 3
- Red warning: Alert Level 4
