The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Dr Abdulla Khaleel, paid a courtesy call today on the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, during his official state visit to the Maldives.
Welcoming President Dissanayaka and his delegation on their first State Visit since assuming office, Minister Dr. Khaleel reaffirmed the Government of Maldives’ strong commitment to strengthening the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the continued development of bilateral relations. President Dissanayaka reiterated Sri Lanka’s commitment to enhancing collaboration across a wide range of areas, reflecting the deep and enduring ties between the two countries.
Minister Dr. Khaleel was accompanied by the High Commissioner of the Maldives to Sri Lanka, Masood Imad; Secretary Fathimath Inaya; Additional Secretary Aminath Abdulla Didi; and Director General Aishath Fareena.
