Over 600 Flat Agreements Signed Under Gedhoruveriyaa Scheme, Says FDC
Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation Limited (FDC) has announced that over 600 flat agreements under the Gedhoruveriyaa Scheme have been signed since the process began late last month.
The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure forwarded the names of 2,665 recipients to FDC on 21 July to initiate the agreement signing. As of Saturday, FDC reported that agreements had been signed with 640 recipients, with the aim to complete the entire process within the next three months.
Recipients who have been notified via SMS are required to upload the necessary documents through FDC’s online portal prior to attending the agreement signing. Once documentation is submitted through the ‘Fahi Portal,’ a specific time slot will be allocated for signing.
The agreement signings are being held at the Hulhumale’ Synthetic Track daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Priority is being given to recipients of flats in towers that are ready for occupancy.
The Gedhoruveriyaa project, managed by FDC, involves the construction of 32 towers consisting of two-bedroom and three-bedroom flats. It is currently the largest social housing initiative underway in the Male’ area.
Half of the towers—16 in total—are being built by Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL) under the name Amaan Udhares. The remaining 16 towers, named Amaan Dhoadhi, are being constructed by the National Buildings Construction Corporation of India (NBCC). Both contractors have completed over 80 percent of the work.
The government intends to begin handing over units to recipients before the end of the month.
