Police said routine patrols and statistics show that boys under the age of 18 are more frequently seen congregating in such locations, raising concerns about their exposure to environments associated with criminal activity.
Authorities highlighted risks linked to these gatherings, including bullying, unsafe road use, children running away from home, and exposure to drugs and other illegal activities. The police also stressed that such situations place minors in vulnerable positions that could lead to long-term consequences.
In response, police announced that patrols and spot checks will be intensified in the affected areas. They also stated that efforts will be made to work closely with parents, the Ministry of Education, and relevant community organisations to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.
