Team Baakee Wins Ooredoo Masrace 2025 in Huraa, Kaafu Atoll

Team Baakee won the Kaafu Atoll Huraa leg of the Ooredoo Maldives’ Masrace 2025 on Friday.
According to the company, with a score of 544.5 points, Team Baakee claimed the grand prize of MVR 25,000. Team Nora secured second place with 489.8 points, winning MVR 10,000, while Team Anantara finished third with 370 points and received MVR 5,000.

The event also recognised individual achievements. Malaaz from Team Anantara won the award for the heaviest catch with a 20.6kg grouper ( 8bar). Ziyad of Club MTCC was named Best Fisherman after landing 36 fish, while Ameena of STELCO Kanbalun was named Best Fisherwoman with seven fish. Ziyad and Ameena received PIO Ultimate Sea Spirit/Gangster rods, sponsored by Hai Fishing.
Ooredoo Maldives is holding this year’s Masrace celebration across two islands as part of its 20th anniversary. Ooredoo Maldives congratulated all participants and winners of the Huraa competition and said it looks forward to continuing the festivities in Funadhoo, Shaviyani Atoll, the other island where the Masrace is held this year.
