The government has announced that students will now be allowed to change schools only at designated times during the academic year.

Previously, transfers could occur at any point, but amendments to the student enrolment and transfer regulations will take effect from the next academic year.

Under the new rules, students may transfer schools only twice per year. Transfers for the second term must be submitted at least one month before the end of the first term, while transfers before the end of the academic year must be requested at least one month prior to the conclusion of the second term.

The updated policy aims to promote academic stability and minimise disruptions to students’ learning. All schools are required to align their internal procedures with the new guidelines, although exceptions may be granted in special or sensitive cases where a transfer is deemed necessary.
