Three Motorcycles and a Bus Involved in a Collision on Sinamalé Bridge

Three motorcycles, including a police vehicle, were involved in a collision with a bus on the Sinamalé Bridge highway yesterday.
The Maldives Police Service confirmed that several individuals were injured and taken to hospital for treatment. None of the injuries have been reported as serious.

According to police, the incident began when a speeding motorcycle attempted to overtake another motorcycle by passing between it and the bus. The manoeuvre led to a collision with the second motorcycle, which subsequently went under the bus. The same motorcycle also struck a parked police motorcycle on the opposite side of the highway.
Those injured include the driver of the speeding motorcycle, the driver of the second motorcycle, and a 15-year-old female passenger.
Footage circulating on social media showed police present at the scene, with helmets and motorcycle parts scattered across the highway.
Police have since towed the motorcycle involved in the incident and confirmed that an investigation is underway.
