Dhiraagu is giving all of its customers 37 GB of data, valid for 24 hours today, to celebrate the telecommunication company’s 37th anniversary.
At a press conference held at the Dhiraagu Head Office, the company unveiled a series of promotions. The 37 GB of free data is available to all customers who activate the offer by dialling *225# before 6:00 p.m. today, with validity for 24 hours.
Family gifting packages
Dhiraagu also introduced new family gifting options, allowing customers to share data more easily. Prepaid customers can purchase a family pack add-on, which includes a voucher that can be used to gift data. Postpaid 1,000 and 1,700 package customers will receive two gift vouchers before the 15th of each month, which can be used to share data with others.
The company confirmed that gifting is available through the Dhiraagu app for numbers registered under the same account. Customers can also buy additional data add-ons via the app.
Dhiraagu x ISIC card for students
A key highlight of the anniversary promotions was the introduction of the Dhiraagu x ISIC card, aimed at students. The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is recognised worldwide as proof of student status and is endorsed by UNESCO.
The card provides access to more than 150,000 offers and discounts in over 130 countries, including travel, shopping, and lifestyle deals. In the Maldives, it can be used at around 50 outlets and for Dhiraagu HOTBILLS subscriptions.
Priced at MVR 100, the ISIC card is valid for one year and requires renewal after expiry. Students can apply through the Dhiraagu app, submitting documents to verify their student status. Applications are processed and approved within 48 hours.
Dhiraagu NetProtect
Dhiraagu introduced AI-powered internet safety for mobile and fibre services starting from just MVR 35 per month. The company said the service is easily activated via the DhiraaguApp with a single switch. According to the company, NetProtect detects and blocks threats automatically and has already prevented over half a million attacks for customers who have enabled the feature.
