The scholarships are offered for Master’s degree programmes at Japanese universities, including Master of Arts in Economics, Master of Arts in International Development, Master of Arts in International Relations, and Master of Science in International Cooperation Policy. Applications will be accepted until 4:00 pm on 10 November.

Applicants are also required to have a minimum of two years of work experience in a target organisation.
Since the launch of the JDS programme in the Maldives in 2020, 27 Maldivians have been awarded scholarships under the scheme.
