Applicants must have completed Grade 10 either last year or in the current academic year and must be under 18 years of age as of 31 December last year. Applications can be submitted via Google Forms or through the Education Ministry’s official website.

Students who complete the programmes will receive a Level 4 national certificate and will have the opportunity to pursue higher education in the field related to their certificate. This year’s intake will offer training in ten areas, including Architectural Technology and Design, Automotive Engineering, Cake Decoration, Civil Engineering, Carpentry Work, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Photography, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, and Small Business Management.

Education Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu encouraged students to take full advantage of the new vocational school. He highlighted that completing the vocational pathway offers opportunities to pursue diploma or degree programmes at universities or enter the job market directly.

Dr. Shafeeu also noted that efforts to increase the number of students completing Grade 10 and progressing to upper secondary education have shown positive results. Recent changes in admission criteria for A-Level programmes have contributed to this growth, with 3,200 out of 6,500 Grade 10 students, or 49 percent, enrolling in A-Level this year, compared to 31 percent in 2023.

Although the vocational programme will be offered through a dedicated school, the exact location of the facility has not yet been announced.
