President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans to launch a national project aimed at reviving the tradition of mutual respect among Maldivians.
He made the announcement while addressing residents of Mahibadhoo during his ongoing tour of Alifu Dhaalu Atoll.
Highlighting that Maldivians have historically upheld values of respect, love, and kindness, the President said national progress must go hand in hand with cultivating minds, relationships, and civic thought. He noted that the tradition of mutual respect has been steadily eroding in the current political climate.
“The actual result will only be achieved through everyone’s participation,” President Muizzu said, underlining the importance of collective engagement.
He called on citizens, political parties, and relevant stakeholders to take part in the initiative, stressing that its success would rely on the active involvement of the entire nation. The President expressed confidence that Maldivians would support the endeavour to restore values that have long defined the country’s social fabric.
