No Injuries Reported In Hiyaa Tower Fire Caused By Electrical Short

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has stated that the fire that broke out in a Hiyaa Tower apartment yesterday was caused by an electrical short in an exhaust fan located on the balcony.

The incident occurred at an apartment on the third floor of Hiyaa Tower 11 at around 11:30 a.m. MNDF fire and rescue teams responded promptly and extinguished the blaze shortly after arrival.

No injuries were reported, though the fire caused damage to the balcony area of the apartment, according to MNDF.
