President Muizzu announced that road construction in Thulusdhoo is scheduled to begin in January next year, while work on the island’s western harbour, a new Bank of Maldives branch, and a US dollar ATM is expected to start later in the year. He said next year’s budget includes allocations to enhance Thulusdhoo’s sports, education, and healthcare infrastructure.

The visit to Thulusdhoo also marked the completion of the President’s tour of all inhabited islands in the Maldives within one year and eleven months, said the President’s office, adding that so far he has met with communities from 187 islands and held discussions with 148 island councils to assess development priorities and progress.

To commemorate the achievement, a cake-cutting ceremony was held during the community meeting with the residents of Thulusdhoo.
