President Returns to Male’ After Two-Day Trip to Lhaviyani And Kaafu Atoll

President Mohamed Muizzu has returned to Male’ after concluding a two-day trip during which he visited seven islands in Lhaviyani and Kaafu atoll.
During the trip, the president visited all the inhabited islands in Lhaviyani Atoll, which are Naifaru, Hinnavaru, Olhuvelifushi, and Kurendhoo. From Kaafu Atoll, he visited the islands of Kaashidhoo, Thulusdhoo and Dhiffushi.
Agreements were signed for new development initiatives, including projects focused on housing, education, health, and community welfare. Speaking at the community meeting events in different islands, President Muizzu highlighted that the 2026 national budget would prioritise healthcare and provide greater financial flexibility for local councils.
Additionally, he announced that civil service pay harmonisation, set to take effect on 1 November, would extend to council employees, ensuring uniform pay classifications nationwide.
According to the President’s Office, with this trip to these two atolls, President Muizzu has now officially visited every inhabited island in the Maldives since assuming office.
