Speaking to Public Service Media, Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusan said the operation follows intelligence gathered over the past six months.

“The police have searched over 100 locations connected to the suspects, including homes, business premises, and storage spaces, and are recovering items related to the case,” he said.

He added that authorities had also seized large amounts of cash and cigarettes believed to have been imported illegally.

Minister Ihusan urged those involved in the drug trade to pursue other paths and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing anti-drug efforts. The operation is being carried out under the directive of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and is intended to dismantle trafficking networks and bring offenders to justice.
