Two Injured in Motorcycle-Pickup Collision on Hulhumalé Highway

Two people were injured in a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup on the Hulhumalé Highway yesterday.

The accident occurred at the end of the four lanes directing traffic from Malé to Hulhumalé and was reported to police at around 09:00.

The motorcycle was carrying a 28-year-old Maldivian man and a 22-year-old Indian woman. The man, who was driving, dislocated his right shoulder and sustained multiple other injuries, while the passenger suffered varying degrees of injuries.

Both were taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), where they remain under treatment.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
