Police Confiscate Illegally Imported Vapes and Cartridges in Targeted Operation

The Maldives Police Service has seized illegally imported vapes and vape cartridges during an operation carried out last Friday.
Acting on a court order, officers searched two houses and two vehicles. They discovered 89 vape cartridges in one motorcycle and a further 59 vapes and cartridges in an apartment. Police also shut down a Facebook page that the sellers had been using to market the products online.

Although no arrests were made, police said they had fined an individual linked to the case. They did not disclose the person’s identity or the amount of the fine.
Police stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
