Minister Khaleel Highlights Need for Fair International Justice at Doha Forum 2025

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel, participated in the Ministerial Roundtable, calling for equal application of justice to all nations, at the Doha Forum 2025 on international justice and the rule of law yesterday.
In a post on X, the ministry noted that the minister said justice must apply equally to all nations, regardless of size, and reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to diplomacy and dialogue during this meeting. Dr Khaleel is currently in Doha to attend the 23rd edition of the Forum, held from 6–7 December 2025.
As an invited speaker, Dr Khaleel joined a roundtable titled “Upholding International Justice Systems and the Rule of Law,” which convenes global leaders and specialists to examine the role of international justice in fostering peace, accountability, and the rule of law in an increasingly complex global environment.

According to the ministry, Dr Khaleel will also meet counterparts and senior officials from participating countries and international organisations on the sidelines of the Forum to deepen partnerships and advance cooperation.
The Maldives’ participation highlights the Government’s sustained commitment to multilateral engagement and its contribution to global discussions on governance and justice.
Dr Khaleel is accompanied by Additional Secretary Khadeeja Najeeha, Charge d’Affaires in Doha Mohamed Didi, Joint Secretary Mariyam Midhfa Naeem, and Second Secretary Mohamed Thahseen.
The Doha Forum is a major global policy platform that brings together heads of state, ministers, policymakers, and experts to discuss diplomacy, governance, development, and security. Now in its 23rd year, it remains a key venue for addressing emerging global challenges and promoting cooperative solutions.
