The Ministry stated that the facility is intended to ease the long-standing issue of vehicles being parked along streets and public areas due to limited designated parking. The new space is expected to help reduce congestion, although it has been introduced as a temporary measure.

HDC Managing Director Ali Zuhair noted that the temporary facility forms part of a broader plan to expand regulated parking options in Hulhumale’. The Ministry confirmed that several parking buildings are currently under construction in partnership with HDC.

With the opening of this new area, the Ministry has now made 2,500 regulated parking spaces available for four-wheeled vehicles across Hulhumale’.
